Last night Mum and I went and saw The Taming of the Shrew performed by the West Australian Ballet at His Majesty’s Theatre. The last time we were there it was still covered up by scaffolding but now the renovation is finished and we can enjoy the façade in all it’s glory. These aesthetic things matter when one dresses up nicely to see a ballet performance. I wore the extraordinary beaded top that David bought for me in Paris with my thrifted black silk mid-length skirt and my Manolo pumps, their first night out! The ballet was amazing. After about two minutes of dancing the prima ballerina, Jayne Smeulders, twisted her ankle and walked off stage, so unfortunate as we were looking forward to seeing her perform as she choreographed the last ballet we saw, Cinderella. We were told her understudy had never danced with the lead male but she pulled it off magnificently, the suitors were hilarious and as a whole we thoroughly enjoyed it. It runs until the 24th of September so I highly recommend going!
